Microsoft have announced, via their official TechNet blog, the pricing for the forthcoming Surface Pro tablet. Giving potential buyers who were wavering between the Surface RT and the Surface Pro more information to help them decide. The Surface Pro will come in 64GB and 128GB models, priced $899 and $999 respectively. Both versions include a Surface pen, with a Touch Cover or Type Cover available as accessories.

The Surface Pro is the ‘grown-up’ brother to the Surface RT. Although they both appear the same on the surface (excuse the pun) they are built on different processor architectures and deliver different versions of Windows 8. Because the Pro uses Intel chips (specifically a Core i5) it is able to run many existing Windows 7 desktop apps. The RT, on the other hand, can only run Windows 8 apps.
